On Saturday, September 19, 2026, the Kijitonyama Postal Grounds transformed into a vibrant "Safari Adventure" for the 22nd edition of the Rotary Goat Races. Stepping into our new, expansive venue, thousands of attendees embraced the theme with incredible enthusiasm, arriving dressed in their finest expedition gear—complete with khaki shirts, wide-brimmed hats, and binoculars. From the moment guests walked through the grand welcome archway flanked by our cheerful blue goat mascots, it was clear that this year’s races would be a spectacular day of fellowship and philanthropy.
The atmosphere was electric as friends, families, and corporate partners gathered under the expansive shaded tents. Whether capturing memories at the custom yellow Jeep photo station alongside our safari goat mascots, taking joyful group selfies, or cheering on the races, the sense of community was palpable. Attendees also enjoyed a variety of vendors and exciting moments, including attendees proudly displaying a giant Precision Air boarding pass. Yet, beyond the entertainment and the fantastic outfits, everyone in attendance was united by a singular, powerful purpose: racing for education.

This year, the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oyster Bay set an ambitious target to welcome 5,000 attendees and raise TZS 200 million. Every ticket purchased and partnership formed goes directly toward expanding educational access in Tanzania. These vital funds are dedicated to providing scholarships for underprivileged students and making crucial improvements to learning environments and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities.
Reflecting on the success of the day, 2026/27 Club President Paul Muhato’s vision truly came to life. As he noted, "The Goat Races are about having a fantastic day together while making a real difference". By going bigger and creating an immersive experience for the whole family, the community responded with overwhelming generosity.
To every sponsor, vendor, local government partner, Rotary family member, and guest who joined us on this Safari Adventure—thank you. Your energy, contributions, and commitment to "Service Above Self" ensure that we can continue creating opportunities for young Tanzanians. We look forward to sharing updates on the transformational educational projects funded by this unforgettable event.
