On the morning of July 28, 2026, the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oyster Bay convened for an extraordinary fellowship to mark two momentous occasions: our 17th club anniversary and the official visit of District Governor Daniel Ddamulira. The energy was palpable as members gathered bright and early at 7:30 AM to reflect on nearly two decades of community impact and to align on the strategic vision for the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

Fellowship, Reflection, and Celebration
The agenda kicked off with a comprehensive board meeting at 6:30 AM, followed by a warm breakfast for all members and guests. Fellowship is the cornerstone of our club, and the venue was filled with laughter and shared purpose as we prepared to celebrate our charter day. A highlight of the morning was the cutting of a beautifully crafted cake, proudly bearing the words "Happy 17th Anniversary Joysterbay," symbolizing the joy, dedication, and vibrant spirit that define our club culture.

Inspiring Leadership and New Beginnings
Following the anniversary celebrations, the club proudly inducted a new Rotarian, continuing our commitment to expanding our network of dedicated professionals and people of action. District Governor Daniel Ddamulira then took the floor for his highly anticipated presentation, delivering an inspiring speech that reinforced the core values of Rotary and our shared goals for the upcoming year. To express our deep appreciation for his leadership and guidance, the club presented the District Governor with a special commemorative gift.

Capturing the Moment: The Board Selfie
The camaraderie and unity of our club leadership were perfectly captured outside the venue. Before concluding the morning's formal program, the club's board members shared a lighthearted and memorable moment, gathering together in front of the venue to take an amazing selfie with the DG. This wonderful snapshot of our leadership team's vibrant spirit can be seen.

From Celebration to Action: Whitesands Blood Drive
In true Rotary fashion, the celebration immediately transitioned into active community service. Following a final toast at 9:00 AM, the District Governor was driven to Whitesands to actively participate in our ongoing Blood Donation Drive, arriving by 9:40 AM. This seamless pivot from a joyous anniversary breakfast to a life-saving medical initiative perfectly encapsulates what it means to be part of the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oyster Bay.

As we stepped into our 18th year of service, we remained deeply inspired by the DG’s visit and look forward to making this Rotary year our most impactful one yet.
