The Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oyster Bay, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service - Tanzania (NBTS), this month has once again conducted another Safe Blood Donation Campaign aimed at increasing the availability of safe blood for patients in hospitals across the country. Operating under the theme "Kila mtu awajibike - One blood donation can save up to 3 lives!", the initiative encouraged community responsibility and highlights the profound impact of voluntary blood donation.

The blood donation drives were scheduled to take place from October 6 to October 8 and again on the 16th 2026, operating daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The campaign was held concurrently at the following locations:
Lugoba Secondary School
Kibiti Secondary School
Minaki Secondary School
Blood is urgently needed every day to support mothers experiencing complications during childbirth, accident victims, children suffering from severe anaemia, patients undergoing surgery, and people receiving treatment for cancer and other serious medical conditions. This campaign continues the series of planned blood donation drives conducted by the Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oyster Bay in collaboration with NBTS to promote regular voluntary blood donation, maintain an adequate and reliable supply of safe blood, and build a dependable donor network.
All members of the public who are in good health are invited to keep participating in these drives. Blood donation is a simple but powerful act of service. The Rotary Club of Dar es Salaam Oyster Bay and NBTS call upon media organizations, community leaders, schools, private companies, government institutions, religious organizations, youth groups, and civil society organizations to support and publicize the campaign.
